The Twitter Files PDFs 1-19

One college I teach at has a philosophy course called “Technology and Values.” In the past, I have refused to teach it because I don’t like using textbooks, since they are someone else’s thoughts and efforts and not one’s own, and I was not sure I could come up with a good syllabus for an entire semester on such a relatively narrow topic. I usually do not like applied ethics courses very much. In the meantime, I have changed my mind and think that perhaps I have more than enough material. I thought I would include the Twitter Files as part of this prospective course. Needless to say, what the New York Times and other such entities have to say on the matter will be wrong and misleading. So, it is necessary to take a look at them first hand. However, they have been published as a series of tweets on “X,” in the form of a “tweet thread.” I’m sure many people these days read things on their phones and are happy thumbing their way to oblivion like some hitchhiker of yore. However, I prefer a computer, making note taking easy and convenient, and assigning tweets as part of a class activity seems unfeasible and annoying. To that end, I have downloaded the tweets as a series of PDFs and added titles.

Google really really does not want you to access the Twitter Files if my attempts to find them are anything to go by, which is ironic since the topic involves bans and shadow banning, among other things. Even Duck Duck Go was not great. After much searching (about an hour and a half) I found a blog by Jordan Sather that lists the nineteen Twitter Files written so far. More will be appearing at some point. He gives their names and dates and a link to the Twitter thread. He does not provide PDFs. Those I got by signing up to something at X (apparently owned by an illiterate person signing his name). I am providing them here for those who are interested. This may be illegal, so I have no idea how long they will be up. If someone reading this has legal knowledge and thinks I could get in legal or financial trouble rather than just being told to cease and desist, please be kind enough to let me know in the comments. Here is the link to Jordan Sather’s blog and his introduction to The Twitter Files.

  1. As far as search engine goes, Yandex is good for these sorts of things. It’s not censored like the US search engines are so it will bring up crimethink results.

      • Neither Google, Duck Duck Go, nor Yandex return this post in the search results. How did you find it, unless you are a regular Orthosphere reader?

It’ll come up if you add Twitter Files PDFs Orthosphere – but then you’d already have to know where to find it.
