A better way to fight the HHS mandate…

is suggested by Ann Barnhardt at Sancte Pater:

Listen, you fools. YOU DON’T SHUT ANYTHING DOWN. You keep going exactly as you have been, and you force those dirty rotten SOBs to literally storm your hospitals and shut YOU down at gunpoint. And I’m not kidding. Make them physically shut down your hospital by dragging you out at gunpoint. Make them physically shut down your schools. Make them shut down your university by force because you won’t cover abortions in your student health plan. Make them physically shut down your soup kitchens. Make them shut down your adoption agencies because you won’t hand a baby boy over to two men who like to jam various and sundry body parts up each others’ rectums.

In other words, STAND AND FIGHT.

The only proper course of action is total non-compliance with these totalitarian edicts of the regime, and FORCING THEIR HAND.

Anything less than that, and you LOSE. MEN fight wars. If you refuse to do your duty and act like MEN, then the war is already lost. And make no mistake, cowardice is a grave sin, and you will answer for it.

Every bishop is given a crosier upon his ordination to the episcopacy. A crosier is a shepherd’s staff. It is a six to seven foot long staff that a shepherd uses to beat the crap out of wolves. That’s your job.

It’s probably impertinent for a layperson to a lecture a bishop on how best to execute his office (or, for that matter, for a woman to lecture a man on manliness), but then I suppose these are signs of the backwardness of the present age. Women know more about manliness than men; men act womanlier than women; nuns shelter and encourage the murderers of infants; priests are embarrassed to wear the collar in public; and so on. And the bishops are prepared to abandon the ministries and duties commanded them by Christ, in deference to the whims of a vile and atheist government of sodomy- and infanticide-enthusiasts ruling an apostate nation. Pfah!

By the way, for those who didn’t notice, For Greater Glory (former Cristiada) was released in theaters today. Oh, for times when men still thought the Church worth dying for.

  1. I’d love to see it. It seems to me, however, that the USCCB has lost most of its credibility for having supported basically every other state incursion over the past 50 years. I believe that Fr. Neuhaus said that where it is not required for the Bishops to speak on a matter, it is required for them not to speak. If this had been the practice, the people and their appointed leaders might be more willing to listen.

  2. The Catholic Church has a golden opportunity here. If they confess their previous error in failing to fight, and stand and fight NOW with some old-fashioned fervor and zeal, they’ll find far more support than most of these bishops could possibly fathom. They key point is an honest confession, not some pretense glorifying their supposed churchian niceness.

Besides just their own members, the Catholic church might find droves of Protestants flocking to their banners should they decide to push back hard.

  3. We really shouldn’t look to anything that stupid woman says. In other posts she wraps herself in the constitution (what else?) and commands Western men to go fight and the Muhammdeans in the name of women’s rights and freedom. She is part of the problem.

She is also childless and unmarried. Yeah its not like Western Christianity is in a demographic death spiral or anything.

    • It should go without saying that my quoting someone doesn’t imply an endorsement of their entire worldview.

If it did, no one anywhere would ever be quoted for anything at the Orthosphere.

  4. Stupid woman aside, she has a point doesn’t she? She’s referring to the carelessness of the Church in this country and how they’ve continually pandered to feminist and liberal whims. The Church should not be concerned with “being nice,” and instead should fight.

As a convert, sometimes I wonder how the Church was able to bend over to suit the whims of those who don’t even care about the faith while those who are faithful suffer. Are we the laughingstock in the world?
